Shipping and Handling

Propylene glycol is a clear, colorless liquid with the consistency of syrup. It is practically odorless and tasteless. It is hygroscopic (attracts water), has low toxicity and outstanding stability, low vapor pressure and broad solvency. Propylene glycol lowers the freezing point and increases the boiling/flash point of water. These properties make propylene glycol ideal for a wide array of applications, such as:

  • Heat Transfer Fluids
  • Hydraulic Fluids
  • Solvents
  • Antifreezes
  • Coolants
  • Deicing Fluids

NovaTherm IPG is a premium Propylene Glycol Heat Transfer Fluid (HTF) for stationary engines found in natural gas compression, power generation and other heavy machinery.  Blended with a phosphate and nitrite inhibitor package, it provides superior protection against cavitation erosion, liner pitting and scale formation and is buffered to keep the reserve alkalinity at acceptable levels.

Propylene glycol is suitable for use in all stationary engines including Caterpillar, Waukesha, White Superior and others. The chemistry employed will effectively protect your industrial engines whether constructed of single or mixed alloys. The industrial corrosion control inhibitors included have been specially formulated to extend the service life of the coolant. Because of this, you will receive a higher level of reserve alkalinity, superior performance, and less maintenance requirements through reinhibiting. These attributes improve your bottom line cost.

NovaTherm IPG Quality Assurance Program provides glycol sample analysis and recommendations at no charge to ensure optimal performance. NovaTherm Inhibited Propylene Glycol can be purchased in its concentrated form or pre-blended with deionized water to meet your specification for boiling, freeze and/or burst protection. NovaTherm Inhibited Propylene Glycol is compatible with NORKOOL and would be equivalent to DOWFROST HD, JEFFCOOL P-150 and other industrial propylene glycol based coolants for stationary engines.

Propylene glycol is used frequently as a substitute for ethylene glycol where low toxicity and environmentally sensitive products are required. Novamen Inc is a widely respected supplier of propylene glycol in Western Canada.
