High mineral content in municipal water or groundwater causes scale buildup, corrosion, sediment, and chemical reactions that compromise your product quality and the lifespan of your equipment. Novamen produces high-purity Reverse Osmosis (RO) water at our Penhold, Alberta blending facility. We use this same water for our own chemical production, and we make it available to industries that need a reliable, locally sourced supply.
What Is Reverse Osmosis Water?
Reverse osmosis is an advanced filtration process that forces water through a semi-permeable membrane at high pressure, stripping out dissolved solids, minerals, organics, and impurities at the molecular level. The result is water with 95–99% of dissolved minerals removed, making it pure enough for virtually all industrial applications.
Alberta groundwater is notoriously hard, with high concentrations of calcium and magnesium that cause scale in equipment and interfere with chemical processes. RO water eliminates that problem entirely.
